Summary Description:
You will be responsible for driving new initiatives to expand the Amazon China’s technical services and to create a world class shopping experience for our china customers.  As a technical project manager, you will be responsible in all aspects of a typical new software development life cycle, from gathering customer requirements to defining the strategy and architecture, through deployment and support.  Many of these projects will also include non-software changes, such as project managing exciting new product launches on our website store.  Recent examples include the launch of Harry Potter 7, expedited shipping service, etc. You will be expected to creates project charter and facilitate creating various project deliverables and develop the conceptual design and/or technical design for multiple projects concurrently. Maintains issue logs, create risk assessment and mitigation plan as required. Facilitates project meetings with IT and business. Facilitates technical discussions and provide inputs, Manage project communication and project quality. This is a high visibility position and requires sound decision making capabilities. You will drive the projects to improve Amazon’s systems that interact with our worldwide teams, from Japan to Seattle HQ and interact with technical and business teams across the company.  The initiatives that you will lead are viewed by senior management as critical enhancements needed to reduce cost, and improve customer experience by increasing selection on our website, not to mention potential (significant) new source of revenues.
Essential Skills:

· high-energy, talented individual who can manage innovation and execution.
· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science with advanced degrees preferred (MS, iin Computer Science, Computer Engineering, other Engineering, business, economics).
· Strong technical credentials, with at least 3 years project management experience or experience managing software development teams, ideally with some hands-on architectural or distributed systems experience.
· Business analysis acumen, with substantive experience measuring the success of a complex business and proposing new business opportunities, including strong financial sense.
· Excellent written/verbal communication, presentation, and listening skills, with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences, including non-technical.  A track record of communicating well with executives and non-technical leaders Education:
B.S. in Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, informatics, physics, or business.
Special Physical Conditions/Requirements:
This position will be based in Beijing, China HQ and will report into our Sr. Manager, Technical Project. Mgmt office, part of our Supply Chain Ops Integration organization.
